Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl Review
Ratings:3/5 Reviewer:Taran Adarsh Site:BollywoodHungama
LADIES VS RICKY BAHL is a film of today and the women here are not abla naaris who will sit back and weep, but seek vengeance or at least get even with the offender. However, the screenplay [Devika Bhagat] isn't able to tap the potential that the plot provides. That's because the ploys that Anushka and her gang of girls employ to get even with Ranveer come across as preposterous and outlandish at times. Because the tricks played by the girls are unreal than sensible, even the youngsters may not really enjoy the drama in its entirety. Also, the film dips in the post-interval portions and tends to get sluggish as well. Fortunately, the director ensures that the film gets back on track and rounds off with a pounding culmination. On the whole, LADIES VS RICKY BAHL is, at best, a decent fare, which appeals in parts. The film starts well, even ends well. It's the in between that's plain ordinary.Visit Site for more

What’s Good: The basic plotline; some con-game sequences; performances; music; song picturisations. What’s Bad: The comparatively slow pace of the film; absence of clap-worthy con games and dialogues of one-upmanship.Verdict: Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl neither charms greatly nor cons the audience. A plus fare!LADIES VS RICKY BAHL may not charm you enough but it doesn’t even con you. A fair entertainer. Watch it for entertainment but don’t expect the moon.Visit Site for more

The major hiccup in this otherwise engaging film is that it falls prey of the typical trappings of Bollywood. As romance takes over the con-games, the smart-n-saucy film is substituted by a tepid tale where the conman wants to come clean and change his ways for that one girl in life. That makes for a lame climax and a conventional end. The graph of the narrative drops somewhere in the second half and plunges even further as one realizes mixing con with cupid might not be the best of ideas. Thankfully the pacing is perfect and the film never seems stretched.Irrespective of its minor blemishes, director Maneesh Sharma succeeds in striking a constant connect with the audience and also extracts decent performances from the entire cast. While Ladies vs Ricky Bahl doesn't exceed expectations (like Band Baaja Baaraat), it doesn't con you in the name of entertainment either.Visit Site for more

Ladies vs Ricky Bahl loses out on the great chemistry we saw between him and Anushka in Band Baaja Baaraat, especially towards the end. I’ll go with 2.5 stars for Ladies vs Ricky Bahl - 1 Ranveer, 1 for Parineeti for her debut film and .5 for the entertainment, especially in the first half.Ranveer Singh walks away the hero from the film. Super energy and after Parineeti, good dialogues which make him not a seminal con-man by any standards, but an enjoyable one. The whistles were all for him and Parineeti. Maneesh Sharma's film Ladies vs Ricky Bahl is a good, fun weekend watch.Visit Site for more

Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl's plot revolves around Rick Bahl’s umpteen rendenvezous with the woman he cheats, uses and disposes until he meets his female equivalent Anushka Sharma a.k.a Ishika Desai. She is well aware of his antics for she poses the same too. Now, how the drama unfolds on one con-man laying the trap for the other con-man is what you need to see and find out. This hilariously fast paced romantic comedy, is a great catch this weekend. The music is amazing in the film, coming from the YRF camps most trusted music duo Salim-Suleiman. A good option to get entertained this weekend and reconnect with the BBB jodi for some laughter and foot stomping again! go watch Ladies Vs Ricky BahlVisit Site for more

Hrithik turns director for 'Krissh' sequel
Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan is stepping behind the camera to assist his father filmmaker Rakesh Roshan in the sequel to 2006 superhero film "Krissh".
The filmmaker confirmed the news, saying, "Hrithik always helps me out whenever we work together."
The first schedule of the film, also starring Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Chopra, started off Thursday and since Hrithik was not part of it, he decided to help with the direction. The actor has been calling the shots and taking creative decisions.
This is not the first time that Hrithik will be assisting his father on a film. They previously worked together on films like "Koyla" and "Karan Arjun".

Dirty Picture Review
Ratings:3/5 Reviewer:Rajeev Masand Site:IBNLive
The Dirty Picture seems to have been made specifically to shock you.All those lured in solely by the promise of skin-show are unlikely to complain. Yet, despite its masala scenes, heavy dialoguebaazi and liberal sexual innuendo, in the final analysis, this film is far from perfect. The Dirty Picture takes an unconventional idea and bakes it in a predictable oven. What it suffers most from, unfortunately, is lazy writing. With a plot straight out of a Madhur Bhandarkar film, and a screenplay that follows a familiar graph, The Dirty Picture offers a superficial, simplistic view of the seamy, exploitative side of the 80s film industry.I’m going with two out of five for the film, and an additional one for Vidya Balan alone, which makes it three out of five for The Dirty Picture. It’s an average film made eminently watchable by its courageous star. Go on, give her the awards already!Visit Site for more

THE DIRTY PICTURE fires all powerful bullets to stir your mind's eye. Brave, daring and provocative, THE DIRTY PICTURE doesn't cross the line into impropriety and offensiveness. THE DIRTY PICTURE not only draws attention to the life of a sex goddess, but also makes us responsive of the catastrophe behind the facade. Well narrated and wonderfully executed, THE DIRTY PICTURE is sure to strike a chord with the avid moviegoer. On the whole, THE DIRTY PICTURE banks heavily on shock-value, sex-value and most importantly, script-value. It's an exceptional portrayal of an ordinary person's rise from scratch to extraordinary heights and her subsequent fall. Without doubt, it is one of the most comprehensive scripts to come out of the Hindi film industry in 2011.Visit Site for more

The Dirty Picture is essentially Vidya Balan's film, all the way. She gives a towering performance as the protagonist who remains unapologetic about her life till the very end. The high point of her act is the fact that despite portraying a sex bomb, her sexuality never ever gets vulgar and crude. Instead, there is an endearing quality to her attempts to shock and awe a staid society that thrives on the fake. Also, it is the naughty dialogues of the film which add immense flavour to the proceedings. It's a no-holds-barred screenplay which rightly refuses to treat sex as a four letter word. Kudos to Milan Luthria for handling such a controversial theme with such sensitivity and boldness. The Dirty Picture is definitely not only your film for the week, but is a seminal work that will be studied in feminist discourses.Visit Site for more

She says it the way it is. Director Milan Luthria’s The Dirty Picture, is remarkable for creating a woman of spunk who’s had it with assorted skunks.Suffice it to say that the film’s trump card is the supportive stand taken for a woman who knows what she wants and will get it, never mind the rude shocks ahead. She is shown as incapable of love, because she has never received that four-letter-word from anyone. On the yuck side, the dialogue by Rajat Aroraa is overwritten and relentlessly titillatingYou may have some issues with The Dirty Picture. Never mind because Ms Balan rocks big time. Cheers.Visit Site for more

The Dirty Picture, despite the comprehensive objectivity implied through its title, is not a full-fledged biopic. Instead of painting a layered portrait of Silk, it draws an outline of an unapologetic resident of a flesh-obsessed film industry responsible for her rise and ruin. But Vidya lends her so much transparency, aplomb and sauciness, the outcome is far more awe-inspiring than it deserves to be.In terms of creativity, it's a middling effort. But where bravado is concerned, The Dirty Picture kicks ass by virtue of three very strong reasons: Vidya Balan. Vidya Balan. Vidya Balan.Visit Site for more

What’s Good: The script; the dialogues; the acting; the music; the narrative style. What’s Bad: Nothing really except some boring portions in the post-interval part. All in all, Rajat Aroraa’s script deserves distinction marks and although it may hurt the sensibilities of a thin section of the audience, it would be simply loved by the majority, especially by the younger generation. No doubt, the drama dips at places in the second half.Verdict: The Dirty Picture is a wonderful film and will do extraordinary business.Visit Site for more

The writing is confused as to point of view and weightage, and post-interval, like most Bollywood films, `The Dirty Picture’, dives. What makes us watch, despite everything—the overheating, the overwriting-- is Vidya Balan, who dares to go where not too many leading ladies have. This is her film. But it would have been a better, braver film if it had let her go all the way, not just in bed.Visit Site for more

This is Balan’s, or for that matter any contemporary Bollywood heroine's, ballsiest role so far.Visit Site for more
Though Conrad Hilton didn’t put it this way, Silk (or Balan) concludes – There are three things you need for a successful film: entertainment, entertainment, entertainment. Over here, “I am the entertainment.” She is absolutely right, beyond first-rate

does The Dirty Picture live up to the anticipations? Well, the answer is a big YES. Narration is an art and story-writer Rajat Arora is surely a master at it. Rajat unfolds the story of Silk with so much conviction that he leaves no room for loop-holes. The beauty of the film is though predictable, yet each frame springs up a surprise as Vidya displays various shades of her character, leading to some interesting situations. What adds to the euphoria is how the three men react to it. Screenplay, direction, performances and above all, the dialogues are the strengths of the film. Editing, absence of the much anticipated song titled Twinkle and a dull climax are the weaknesses.Overall, a big thumbs up to The Dirty Picture, which is in its truest meaning, an entertainer. Highly recommended!Visit Site for more

Dirty Picture transports you to the 80’s era successfully and how films were made those days and what worked. Sex sells, yes just the packaging changes. The film makes you think. Talking about the entertaining aspects of the film, it has it all. It has all the masala needed for a commercial potboiler and those who refrain from watching emotions will love the first half. Second half is more on the darker side and is not for people who like light comic flicks. It gives glimpses of Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’. Truly said in the film, A film works for three reasons, entertainment, entertainment and entertainment and ‘The Dirty Picture’ has loads of it.Visit Site for more
