30 Minutes Or Less Movie Review

30 Minutes or Less is a very silly but very entertaining comedy about two idiots (Danny McBride and Nick Swardson) who kidnap a laid-back pizza delivery boy (The Social Network’s Jesse Eisenberg) and strap him with a vest full of explosives, forcing him to rob a bank for them. The pace of the film is breakneck, and the repartee between characters so sharp, your sides will hurt from laughing. I’m going with three out of five for 30 Minutes or Less. Like junk food it has no nutritional value. But you won’t be able to resist it.

This should have actually been one of the smartest films off Hollywood's coveyor belt, this year, coming straight after two trailblazers from the lead actor and the director. The setting, the story and the sequences are quite banal compared to the earlier films. Nevertheless, there is some high energy performances and an effervescent spirit that keeps the goofy film galloping in its short span.Crazy bank heists, gangster encounters and car chases make for some funny situations which keep the minutes flying. The film delivers the goods.

30 Minutes or Less is an action-packed, crime-centric, buddy film packed with lower than low-brow humour. The bomb element in 30 Minutes or Less, along with the expected car chase sequences, gives it a frantic quality to it which lends itself well to the overall pacing.30 Minutes or Less is inessential, but undeniably funny. With coloured language like the liberal use of the word ‘finger-bang’ and check list of references to sexual depravties, 30 Minutes or Less isn’t the most puritanical comedy out there

Aiming to emulate the success of his debut feature, Zombieland (2009), director Ruben Fleischer turns to another densely populated genre: action-comedy. The outcome, however, is sorely disappointing. A laborious affair drained of what little potential it might have had, the film isn't exciting or amusing.Taking a cue from the title perhaps, one might be tempted to flee from this no-brainer in 30 Minutes Or Less.
